Everything is Figureoutable

I came across this concept back in July when I listened to Marie Forleo on one of Oprah's Super Soul Sessions.

This short phrase has become my mantra and has been revolutionary in terms of changing my mindset when it comes to facing roadblocks and adversity. I want to share a recent example of how this mindset has been helpful to me.

My husband and I had a growing list of small house projects. We had talked about hiring someone to help us address this growing list of items because neither of us wanted to make time to fix the items, nor did we feel entirely competent at being able to do so.

The items on our list included:

  1. Getting the keypad to work for the garage door
  2. Fixing a broken string pull light fixture
  3. Patching two holes in the wall
  4. Replacing a knob on the dresser drawer that was stripped

Despite my lack of interest in house projects as well as not being particularly handy around the house, I embraced my new mantra of everything being figureoutable and set out on a mission to fix all of the items on the list.

With help from google and customer support (for the garage door issue), I fixed all the items on the list by the end of the day! I was so proud of myself. While this was a small feat, it felt huge in terms of the shift that had happened in my mind. Everything really was figureoutable!

I have brought this same mindset with me as I have become an entrepreneur and it has been so helpful in being able to embrace uncertainty and learn new things. I am learning how to do things that in the past I would have chalked up to being too complicated or difficult.

Having a mindset of everything being figureoutable is so empowering and makes life much less scary and intimidating!
